botanical perfume
It is in the name - perfume made from botanicals. Plant extracts in the way of essential oils, absolutes, CO₂ extracts and tinctures are what comprises our perfumer’s palette. Our carrier is ethanol (alcohol), made from sugarcane.
Botanical perfumery merges artistry and science. A slow process that requires skill and patience - an ancient craft that is slowly returning.
One extract consists of 100+ molecules, as opposed to synthetic perfumery where one works with single molecules. It can therefore be more complicated to achieve a particular scent goal on occasion, but we believe that we were meant to smell materials as a whole - nature knows best.
Botanical perfume wears closer to the skin, a personal scent that mixes with your own biochemistry. It does not shout, but quietly presents itself to those who come near. We use alcohol as our base which allows the scent to breathe and project.
a bit of poetry, bottled
Plant extracts contain the life force of the plant. They have incredible pharmacological properties, designed to keep the plant healthy and thriving. Wearing botanical perfume, though primarily for its scent, has an undoubtedly positive impact on our overall well-being, simply because of the materials it is composed of.
I feel incredibly privileged to work with these precious plant extracts. Each material has a story of its own to tell - from the soil it was planted in, to the seasons it weathered, to the art of its extraction that yielded this exquisite treasure. A bit of poetry, bottled.
Nature inspires us and guides our artistic expression. With my perfume, I wish to translate art into scent.
