our story
passionate about organic skincare, botanical perfumery and Fynbos - verryk came to be.
​nestled in the Cape Winelands mountains that are shrouded with Fynbos, verryk was born with the idea to celebrate and share the phenomenal Fynbos qualities in skincare and scent.​
why verryk?
as I believe that everyone’s unique heritage should be celebrated, I wanted a meaningful Afrikaans name to reflect my own Afrikaans South African heritage.
verryk is Afrikaans for "enrich".
my hope is to verryk lives, and inspire others to celebrate and be proud of their own heritage too - that which surrounds and supports us, and uniquely shape us to be who we are.
then and now
our first product was our nourishing skin butter, formulated when I was 16 - then under a different brand and product name.
fast forward to 2021, I rebranded and relaunched with verryk.
Beard & Body Balm joined the team a while later.

our founder
our founder, perfumer and product developer - Zéa. happiest in nature, she delights in the beauty of simple yet intentional living.
with a keen interest in scent from a young age, Zéa grew up surrounded by Fynbos - the world's smallest, yet most diverse Floral Kingdom that is endemic to South Africa. mesmerised by the scent, she knew that it had to be turned into perfume - to share this unique and treasured fragrance with the rest of the world.
